Hey) my name is Alex, I am an architect based in Dublin. The way I understand architecture is a practice that creates organized spaces, while good architecture is something that also creates places. To give you a quick overview of my roots as an architect here is the list of the main starting point of my design methodology

Program mixing/reinterpretation

Program mixing as well as reintrepretation of existing programatic blueprints is a great way to create diverse public places that promote democracy and community. My interpretation of this is pretty straightforward - diversification and densification of the program. Different people from different backgrounds do different things in relatively close proximity to each other.

Stacking as a flexible design tool
Stacking as a design tool allows great flexibility in therms of the building’s visual design, while also having both programmatic and visual representation of a more decentralised approach to architectural design. It also allows to enrich the project and its urban context with more types of diverse cultural codes.

My personal urban experiences
My personal urban experiences also play a big role in my design process, as i always try to analyze my surroundings. Whenever i come across a new typology, that i haven’t experienced yet, or just analyzing my everyday life in a city, I always try to understand why something works or why it doesn’t, so i could apply this knowledge in my design.

Script or an idea of
architectural promenade
The idea of architectural promenade, coupled with a sort of phenomenological approach to it, is an extension of the program-centered architectural design approach. A kind of script, preferably a non-linear one, that follows a path or a web of paths that strikes your senses with different rhythms and intensities: from vibrant colors to the smell of the flowers.
